Dal Dryfruit Pongal
Main Ingredient : Tata Sampann Fine Besan
It can be used to prepare some delicious Dhokla, Kadhi, Fafda, Sev and other namkeens.

You will need


½ cup Green gram (Moong dal) washed
1 cup Semolina (Suji) big grains
1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
15-20 Black Pepper corns
2 teaspoon grated Ginger
10-12 Curry leaves
3 table spoon Cashew nut pieces
3 Green chillies sliced
4 table spoon Ghee
Salt (as per taste)

Let's get cooking!

Wash and drain the Moong dal.

Add it in the pressure cooker with one cup of water and cook it for 3 whistles.

In a non-stick pan, heat 1 table spoon of ghee and roast the Suji, but ensure that it does not change its colour

Heat the remaining ghee in another pan and add the cumin seeds till they start crackling.

Add the cashew nuts and roast them.

Add the ginger, green chilies and the black pepper and sauté it for some time.

Add 2½ cups of water and salt and bring it to a boil.

Mash the dal lightly

Add the mashed dal and Suji in small portions and wait for the mixture to boil.

Cook till the water dries out.

Serve the freshly hot cooked Pongal.
